TOWNSFOLK are being invited to the official launch of a charity calendar.

Earlier this year the Advertiser reported on how a group of friends would be featuring in the fun calendar, in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The project has been organised by Bromsgrove resident Alison Lees who wanted to raise money after attending 12 funerals in just two years, where the deaths were all linked to cancer, then had her own cervical cancer scare.

Over the last few months images have been shot of the women, who have all been affected in someway by cancer, posing in town pubs including the Wildmoor Oak, the Wishing Well, the Crown, the Nailers Arms, the Ewe & Lamb, the Grapevine and the Dodford Inn.

The 2014 calendar is now ready for sale and is being launched at a special party, being held at the Black Cross, Worcester Road, on June 2.

Doors open at noon, with the event going on to late.

There will be fun for all the family with a bouncy castle, face painting, a chance to win a holiday for four people, cake and jewellery stalls, a DJ, karaoke and a food shack organised by Wildmoor Oak chef Lorenzo Richards.

Also on the day will be live music from Dan Greenaway, between 3-4pm, and High Roller, between 8-9pm.

Anyone who can not make the party, but who would like a charity calendar, is asked to email Miss Lees on calendergirlsbromsgrove@gmail.com, after the launch.
