YOUNGSTERS from a Bromsgrove school have been enjoying the good weather by holding various summer activities.

Millfields First School pupils visited St John’s Middle School’s playing fields for their annual sports day.

Traditional races including egg and spoon, relay, and three-legged, were held on the day.

The whole school took part, with other children, staff and parents cheering the sporty youngsters on.

Year three pupils took part in an exciting day of outdoor adventure activities, which included orienteering, making a camp fire, tent pitching and outdoor art.

Sharon Worrall, key stage two co-ordinator, said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and developed their communication, leadership and team building skills.”

The school’s pupils have also been taking part in music-themed activities.

Musicians visited the school to help the children, so they could perform a piece of music to their parents.

In another activity, after the school’s annual trip to Sanders Park’s bandstand had to be cancelled, it was decided to hold the event in the Swift Close-based school’s grounds instead.

The school choir and a dance group gave performances, with support from musicians Cathy Moseley and Christianne Evans who dropped into the school for the event.
