4:50pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in News
THE Bromsgrove group Words, promoting interest in the written and spoken word, is set to bring to life a story that has delighted audiences both as a book and film.
A theatrical performance of 84 Charing Cross Road is being held at Bromsgrove’s Artrix, in School Drive, from 8pm on Friday, August 30.
The story tells of a 20 year correspondence between New York writer Helen Hanff and Frank Doel, a second hand bookseller in London.
Performers Linda Hart, who was born in New York and who has also worked as a freelance writer, editor and lecturer, will be appearing along with distinguished reader and actor Gabriel Woolf.
Tickets for the show cost £12 and can be ordered through the Artrix’s box office by calling 01527 577330. Alternatively, visit artrix.co.uk.
Words subscribers can pay a discounted price of £9, which are available from 0121 445 3485.
