Two Bromsgrove parks receive prestigious award

TWO Bromsgrove parks have received the prestigious Green Flag Award.
Sanders Park, in Kidderminster Road, and Lickey End Recreation Ground, in Alcester Road, were among a number of parks and green spaces to receive a Green Flag Award this year.
The key factor for Sanders Park success was the new Sensory Garden, which was sponsored by the Bromsgrove Rotary Club, and the new mission unit and play area.
The Green Flag Award scheme is the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces in the UK. It was first launched in 1996 to recognise and reward the best green spaces in the country.
Councillor Mike Webb, portfolio holder for leisure, said: “For several years now, two of our parks have been judged as among the best in the country and that is a remarkable achievement.
"The council’s parks and open spaces team and other colleagues should be very proud of their work and deserve recognition for their contribution.”
