TOWNSFOLK are being invited to take part in a community walk event being held in Barnt Green.
Organised by Barnt Green Parish Council there are four guided walks on offer, varying from two-and-a-half miles to six-and-a-half miles in distance.
The walks, which take place on Saturday, September 28, are designed to take in many local beauty spots including the Worcester and Birmingham canal, Upper and Lower Bittell Reservoirs, Cofton Church, Lickey Visitors Centre and woods.
All the walks start and finish at the Friends’ Meeting Housing, in Sandhills Road.
The four walks start at staggered intervals with the six-and-a-half walk starting at 2pm, the five mile walk starting at 3pm, the four mile walk starting at 3.30pm and the two-and-a-half mile walk starting at 4pm.
All the walks will aim to arrive back at the Friends’ Meeting House at about 5.30pm for a pig roast.
There is no charge for the walk but pig roast and bar purchases will apply.
Children will be able to enjoy a trail quiz, which has also been organised. Dogs on lead are welcome to join the walks.
The event is celebrating a recent agreement between the council and Worcestershire County Council to promote a number of walks in and around Barnt Green.
John Jagger, Barnt Green Parish Council chairman, said he hoped that walkers and runners will take the opportunity to go on the guided walks, to see some of the most beautiful countryside in the West Midlands.
