Rednal men jailed for two burglaries
11:56am Friday 11th October 2013 in News
TWO Rednal men will spend 12 weeks in prison after burgling two properties.
Christopher Lawlor, 29, of Cock Hill Lane and Simon Brand, known as Simon Thomson and also aged 29, of Rubery Farm Grove, Rednal, appeared before Worcester magistrates on Wednesday, October 9.
The pair were jailed for 12 weeks for burgling a property in Cofton Church Lane, Cofton Hackett, on August 5, in which a television set and DVD player were stolen. They were also given another 12 weeks for the burglary of an outbuilding in Beverley Road, Rednal, on Friday, October 4, in which power tools were taken.
The second sentence runs concurrently, so Lawlor and Brand will spend 12 weeks behind bars.
Detective Constable Colin Milward of West Mercia Police said: “Burglary offences cause a great deal of distress to victims and are taken very seriously by the police and courts.
“In this case, both men were on police bail for the Cofton Hackett offence when they committed the Rednal burglary.
“They were arrested again on Tuesday and found themselves in jail on Wednesday.
“We hope this speedy action by the police and court will act as a deterrent and reassurance.”
