A POPULAR Bromsgrove bridge club, based at a town centre hall, is inviting people to join them as they look for new members.

Amphlett Bridge Club held its 12th consecutive Christmas meeting at its home, the Amphlett Hall, in Crown Close on Monday, December 2.

The club's current 30 members enjoyed a supper that was prepared and cooked by members, including a choice of three curries.

The meal was followed by the regular Monday night bridge play.

John Mee, the club’s chairman, said: "The bridge club members all had an enjoyable evening to start the festive season and new members looking to join in the new year are very welcome to get in touch.

"It is an enjoyable and gentle social event where members can come together with people who like playing cards in congenial company.

"Members enjoy a non-competitive atmosphere, where spending time together, is as important as playing. Both experienced and not-so-experienced players are welcome.”

The long established Bromsgrove Amphlett Bridge Club meets every Monday night. The club is ideal for senior citizens who are looking for new social opportunities.

Play starts at 7pm and members normally play for up to three hours.

Amphlett Hall is located in Crown Close, off Market Street, and is managed by Age UK Bromsgrove.
