THREE bridges and a flood gate have been closed as flooding hit Worcestershire during the night.

Eckington Bridge, in Eckington, Jubilee Bridge, in Fladbury, both near Pershore, and the bridge over River Isbourne, in Hinton on the Green, near Evesham, have been closed as they are impassable with water.

New Street in Upton-upon-Severn has also closed its flood gates to reduce the damage from floods.

Around 20 to 30mm of rain fell throughout yesterday and the night and has led to a flood warning for the River Avon at Pershore and Wick and flood alerts for the River Isbourne, Badsey Brook, Honeybourne Brook, Bretforton Brook, Littleton Brooke, the River Severn and Lower Teme.

Two Ledbury roads were also hit with flooding with motorists being advised to approach the Gloucester Road with care and the A417, near junction 2 on the M50, being just passable and the Tenbury Road in Bromyard near the rugby club was also just passable.

Neigh Lane at Mill Bank, near Fladbury, Pershore, was also flooded.
