TOWNSFOLK are being reminded tickets are still available for a fund-raising Black Country-themed night.

Iconic Black Country entertainer Just Aynuk and wordsmith David Bartley will be appearing at the evening, being held on Friday, January 24.

Alan Smith, who performs as Just Aynuk, was one half of legendary Black Country comedy duo Aynuk and Ayli.

Tipton poet David Bartley will be entertaining those in attendance by reading his poetry.

Traditional Black Country cuisine, faggots and peas, will be served.

Alternatively there will be scampi and chips, or a vegetarian option.

Those attending the event, taking place at the Spadesbourne Suite at the Council House in Burcot Lane, are asked to arrive for 7pm, in time for a 7.30pm start.

The supper will be served at 8.15pm.

A charity raffle will also be held before the close of the evening at 11pm.

The authority's civic head, Councillor Helen Jones, is hosting the evening and money raised is being donated to her chosen charities Afasic, which supports children and young people with speech and language impairments, and the Pilgrim Bandits, which helps and inspires wounded soldiers.

Coun Helen Jones said: “Come and join us in celebrating some of our finest local culture; enjoy some food, be entertained and above all help raise money for good causes too.”

Tickets cost £16 per person. Those attending are asked to bring their own drinks and glasses, as there are no bar facilities.

Party bookings are welcome.

Tickets are available from Sharon Chaplin by calling 01527 881484.
