A BROMSGROVE theatre school is offering youngsters the chance to get hold of a golden ticket.

The Star Project Theatre School is offering anyone aged four up to 18-years-old the opportunity to appear in an adaptation of the musical extravaganza Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

During a half term workshop children will be able to bring Roald Dahl's famous story of golden tickets, Willy Wonka, and Oompa-Loompas, to life.

The performance workshop runs from 10am until 4pm each day between Monday, February 17, and Wednesday, February 19.

It is being held at the Barnt Green Parish Centre, in Sandhills Road.

Children will be coached by professionally experienced performers and directors. No previous experience is necessary, and the youngsters will learn valuable theatre skills.

Family and friends will then be able to see a performance of the musical at 6pm on the Wednesday.

Star Project's principal Jo Edwards said: "The story is a timeless classic, hugely popular with children of all ages.

“With larger than life characters and a delicious plot the workshop will give everyone a chance to act, sing and dance their way to the final performance.

"I know it will be an amazing experience for the children.”

Places are limited for the workshop, so it is advised to book early.
