AN art group being held at the Life After Stroke centre in Bromsgrove received a visit recently from representatives of Bromsgrove District Housing Trust.

The visitors were there to see how money raised from the Stroke Association from its Christmas Ball is being spent.

The trust splits money raised at the event each year between four local organizations.

Alan Williams, community environmental manager for BDHT, said: "As one of our four chosen charities, BDHT are delighted to donate £125 from our Christmas Charity Ball to The Stroke Association. We hope this goes some way to help them with the invaluable work they do." Over the last year BDHT have supported the Staff at BDHT have raised money for the centre in a variety of ways over the past year, holding several fundraising events including staff dress down days and Bingo-thons. They have also baked cakes for events at the centre and regularly donate plants for its community garden.

Johanne Hughes, the Life After Stroke Centre’s programme support coordinator, added: “ We are so grateful to BDHT for all their support they have always been on willing to help us and even helped us find a Christmas Tree for the centre.

The money raised through the latest Christmas Ball will be used to help fund the launch of ‘Express Yourself Through Art’ sessions at the Life after Stroke Centre.
