WORK to construct new homes in Wychold is underway.
Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (bdht) says the new Worcester Road housing scheme will be its first large housing scheme outside of the town.
When completed there will be 20 new homes available for rent which will include four one-bedroom maisonettes, 10 two-bedroom houses and six three-bedroom houses.
There will also be opportunities to purchase a home through bdht’s shared-ownership scheme, with six two-bedroom houses and two three-bedroom houses available from May.
Mike Brown, bdht chief executive, said: “As always, bdht is desperately trying to meet growing housing need and whilst we continue to do this in Bromsgrove, we are also looking at areas that border Bromsgrove.
"Homes will be allocated to local people as a priority, giving those who have grown up in the area the opportunity to rent or purchase an affordable property there.”
