BUDDING artists are being invited to attend demonstrations and talks at a town art centre.

Avoncroft Arts Society, in Redditch Road, Stoke Heath, recently opened a new purpose built room that is designed to host art demonstrations.

Local artist Richard Crabtree said the room is ideal for his classes as it is a perfect place for like minded people to learn to paint in a relaxed and informal setting.

Richard is holding a pastel portrait class this Saturday, March 1, from 10am until noon.

On Saturday, April 5, the society is holding a demonstration on the art of cake decorating, which is being given by experienced sugarcraft tutor Pat Williams.

Anyone wanting to improve their cakes or who just like sweet things is welcome.

A lively and informative talk is being given by talented local artist Anne Scrimshaw about paint and colour on Saturday, May 10.

Anne will be speaking on what all the different names of colours mean, and how to mix a certain colour.

The event is being held from 10am until noon.
