Busy summer ahead for Malvern military charity group
8:25am Thursday 6th March 2014 in News
HELP for Heroes, the charity founded only seven years ago to help wounded military personnel, has a busy summer lined up in Malvern. It has a new co-ordinator for the town, change and transformation consultant Tim Kidwell, who is aiming to make 2014 the best year yet for fundraising.
"We did well in 2013, when we were among the most successful group's in Worcestershire, but we are looking to do even better this year so we can do our very best to support our injured service men and women," he said.
Once again H4H will be at the Royal Three Counties Show from June 13-15 with its mascot Hero the Bear, when visitors will have the chance to have their photograph taken with Hero and give him a hug.
This will be followed on July 26 by a First World War commemorative dinner at Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern Wells with tickets at £50 each. Mr Kidwell added: "We're holding this event to mark the start of the First World War with proceeds going to help today’s wounded. With two renowned guest speakers, a first class menu and some excellent wine. T, this offers a real opportunity to learn more about the war, partake of some exceptional hospitality and support our wounded."
Finally, there will be the H4H Malvern Hills Challenge in September, which is described as "an enjoyably demanding 13 mile walk" from end to end of the Malvern Hills. "So why not start putting a team together and signing up some sponsors," said Mr Kidwell. "It will be a great day out and we can see the weather being really kind to us. If anyone has their own ideas for H4H fundraising or want to be involved with H4H please do get in touch with me at email@example.com"
