ARTISTIC types from the area are being invited to be part of a mural at a Burcot garden centre in aid of Garden Re-Leaf Day.

This year's Garden Re-Leaf Day will take place on Friday, March 14 and in honour of the day - which sees the gardening sector come together to raise money for Greenfingers, a charity that aims to create gardens in children's hospices - Fresh @ Burcot Garden Centre on Alcester Road is creating a mural that visitors can be a part of.

Nicci Gow, centre owner, said: "People can paint whatever they like; flowers, trees, people, animals – whatever they might see (or hope to see) in a garden.

Celebrities including Ron Atkinson, Alan Titchmarsh and Peter Seabrook have already contributed their artwork to the piece and Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid will be at the centre on the day

"We are inviting local people to paint their own little bit of the garden on the mural on Garden Re-Leaf Day and donate £1 for a selection of four paints," added Nicci. "It should be great fun and we are sure that the end result will look amazing."
