FOLLOWING the disaster of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines last November, students at Bromsgrove school have been fundraising to help fund relief efforts for the British Red Cross.

Activities at Bromsgrove School included a bag pack at a local supermarket, a Krispy Kreme initiative, where students contacted Krispy Kreme and were given doughnuts to sell to other students and a year nine read-a-thon.

The total amount raised was £3,200 and this will be used to help the charity with continued efforts to help people without basic living amenities in the Philippines.

John Turner, from the British Red Cross, came to the school to accept the cheque on behalf of the charity and was delighted by the fundraising efforts of the pupils.
