A BROMSGROVE pet store is joining a national animal charity in urging local animal rescues and welfare organisations to nominate themselves to receive financial support.

Since being established in 2006, Support Adoption For Pets has helped over 920 rehoming centres and animal welfare organisations across the UK by awarding grants and running fundraising campaigns with Pets at Home.

The charity, along with store colleagues at the Bromsgrove Pets at Home store, is calling on local animal charities, rescue centres and welfare organisations to nominate themselves to join the charity partnership scheme.

The scheme offers support from both Support Adoption For Pets and local Pets at Home stores through a range of activities, including the chance to increase awareness and funds via in-store ‘meet and greet’ events and also eligibility to be nominated and take part in the national fundraising drives run by Support Adoption For Pets during the year.

Amy Wilson, charity manager at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “Over the last eight years the financial support we provide to local rehoming centres has grown significantly. In 2013 alone we raised more than £2.1 million, which went on to help an amazing number of animal welfare causes.

“Now we’re looking to help even more local deserving causes across the country through our charity partnership scheme. Not only does it give causes the chance to participate in our fundraising drives throughout the year, it also provides the organisation with advice and support from the knowledgable colleagues in our team. ”
