SAME event, different outfits. Re-enactor Robin Fairman decided to don period dress for a talk by the UK's top battlefield archaeologist Dr Glenn Foard at Worcester Commandery. It was the first in a series of monthly Civil War nights to be organised by the Battle of Worcester Society and an audience of more than 50 heard Dr Foard describe how discovery of bullets and ordinance on Civil War battlefields is helping historians piece together an exact picture of what went on.

Other talks in the series will be on Wednesday, April16, when Worcester historian Malcolm Atkin will discuss the Battle of Worcester, on Tuesday, May 20, when best selling fiction author Lindsey Davis will talk about "rebels and traitors", on Monday, June 23 when there will be an address by Michael Arnold, best selling author of the Stryker Civil War series and on

Wednesday, July 23 when Prof Ronald Hutton will discuss 'the nature of the great Civil War'.

All talks start at 6pm, admission price is £5 and you don't necessarily need to look like you've just come straight from Edgehill.
