Bromsgrove teams up with recycling campaign

A BROMSGROVE school teamed up with a green initiative raising money to boost school funds.
As part of National Waste Month, youngsters from Holywell Primary and Nursery School, in Gunner Lane, asked people to reduce, reuse and recycle old and unwanted textiles.
Staff and pupils, including their family and friends, got involved and overall 360 kg of textiles were collected.
All the donated items were then passed to the recycling scheme Bag2School UK, which collects and sells unwanted textiles to importers and wholesalers in countries including Eastern and Western Europe, Africa and Asia.
For donating the items, the Rubery school received £180 towards school funds, in return.
The school's eco co-ordinator, Rachel Moss, said: “We are really proud of the children’s achievement.
"They were really enthusiastic and have learnt lots about helping the planet.”
