POLICE investigating the supply of Class A drugs in Bromsgrove have arrested a man.

The 21-year-old, from Birmingham, was stopped by police in Church Street on March 26, and officers seized a large amount of cash and three mobile phones which he had with him.

He was arrested after a subsequent search found he was also in possession of 23 wraps containing what are thought to be illegal Class A drugs, crack cocaine and heroin.

The man was questioned before being released on police bail until May 6, pending analysis of the substances seized and further inquiries.

Detective Constable Mike Morton of West Mercia Police said: “The clear message to drug pushers and users is that we will not tolerate illegal activity of this nature in our communities.

"Drugs bring misery to neighbourhoods, not least because those who become dependent on them often turn to crime to feed their habit.”

Anyone with information about illegal drugs is asked to call police on non emergency number 101.
