A COMMUNITY policing post serving Hagley and Rubery residents has been set up by the police.

THE West Mercia Police Safer Neighbourhood Team for Hagley and Rubery is using the facilities at Hagley Parish Council offices to establish a Community Policing Post (CPP).

The CPP will be used by on duty police officers as a base, although the public will not be able to use the facility.

Inspector Sarah Corteen from West Mercia Police said: “We are pleased to be able to use the parish council facilities, enabling us to continue to strengthen our links with the people of Hagley.”

Barrie Sheldon, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia, said: “It is important that our Safer Neighbourhood Teams are as visible and accessible as possible.

"Therefore I am pleased that they will continue to have a presence in the local area.”

Catherine Humphries from Hagley Parish Council added: “We welcome West Mercia Police to use the facilities in the parish council offices while on duty to maintain police presence within the area."
