A MAN who tried to sell drugs in a Bromsgrove pub was promptly arrested when staff told police, Worcester Crown Court was told.

Ryan Corrigan asked at the Dog and Pheasant last December if they knew of anyone who sniffed m-kat, the drug mephedrome.

He was found with 23 packages of the drug and a further supply was found at his home, said Siobhan Collins, prosecuting.

Corrigan, 22, of Denver Court Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to possession of the drug with intent to supply.

He was given a 10-month jail sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £670 costs. Judge Michael Cullum also imposed an 8pm to 6am curfew.

Diljit Bachada, for Corrigan, said he had just been taken on as a trainee electrician. He had tried to sell the drugs to pay off a £1,200 gambling debt and had been naive to approach pub staff.
