TOWNSFOLK can have their on say on the future for local rivers and canals at a community meeting being held in Bromsgrove.

The Canal and River Trust is running the waterway forum, which aims to get people discussing opportunities for improving the waterways the charity protects.

The forum will be covering various topics including boating, cycling, angling, economy and heritage.

The waterway's forum is being held from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 7, at Avoncroft Museum in Stoke Heath.

Nick Worthington, the Canal and River Trust's waterway manager, said: “The waterways in this region are much loved and really well supported.

"We want communities to have real input into how they are run and improved in the future, and the forums have been designed to get people’s ideas.

"If you have thoughts about your nearby canal, river or towpath that we care for, I’d encourage you to get involved.”
