THE memories came flooding back for Sixties folk legend Julie Felix when she took time out to visit the grave of a legend.

The songstress took time out ahead of a gig at folk club in Birmingham to visit the grave of former Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham at St Michael and All Angels Church in Rushock, near Droitwich.

Julie, who is a good friend of John Paul Jones, another ex -member of the classic rock band and has worked with him on album tracks, first met Bonham during the early days of their careers.

Although originally from California, she now lives at Chorleywood in Hertfordshire, and was staying overnight during her Birmingham gig with Trevor Tapscott, who edits her fan club newsletter, at his home in Droitwich.

"I told Julie about John Bonham's grave and she said she would love to visit it," said Mr Tapscott. "Once inside the church she chose to write the following words in the visitors book: 'John, thank you for the music and memories'. As for an address she wrote 'Planet Earth'. And then said: 'I wonder what planet John is on!' "

Although a big album seller, Julie Felix had two singles hits in the UK, If I could and Heaven is here. Both in 1970.
