YOUNGSTERS from a Rednal playgroup had fun while learning what to do in an emergency when they visited a fire station.
Children from the Plus 2's group at St Stephen's Church, in Rednal, visited Northfield Fire Station where they learned about fire safety and how firefighters put out fires.
The youngsters also enjoyed watching a safety DVD, made specially for under five's, which taught them about the importance of dialing 999 or 112 in an emergency, and knowing their address so emergency services can find them.
There was also the chance to watch firefighters silde down the pole, while children were able to sit in the fire engine and use the water hose.
Julie Kite-Lightfoot, the playgroup's manager, said: "They were all given fire person stickers and had the opportunity to dress up as fire people, while parents and carers were able to book safety checks in their home.
"It was a very worthwhile and enjoyable visit for all."
