REDDITCH Rock Choir has been harmonising with its Bromsgrove equivalent to raise money for a cancer charity in support of one of its members.
The choirs, joined by groups from Kidderminster and Stourbridge, have raised more than £800 in support of Sally Turner, who is hoping to reach her 10-year target of £30,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
She has already raised £24,000 over the years and will be embarking on her ninth charity trek in July, taking in 100km over the mountains and glaciers of Iceland.
Local Rock Choir leader Christa Hugo said: “When Sally asked me whether Rock Choir might like to help her reach her target of £30,000, I didn't have to think twice.
"We are built on a strong community spirit and many of them have been affected personally by cancer, so I knew they would be pleased to rally round to support Sally in her venture and raise money for such a worthy cause."
Sally herself added: "I must extend a huge thank you to Christa's Rock Choir members who are not only fantastic singers, but also amazing fund raisers.
"I am truly stunned by their generosity and support, and it is wonderful to know that every penny raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support to help those living with cancer."
