PUPILS at a Bromsgrove school have been celebrating it receiving an eco-friendly award for the third time.
Eco-Schools England has awarded a third Green Flag award to Sidemoor First School.
The Government’s award recognises a commitment to improving the environment.
Children at the Perryfields Road-based school have been working hard to ensure the school received the award, focusing attention on water and waste reduction, improving the school grounds, as well as taking part in various initiatives including Switch it off week and No paper day.
Hannah Ashton and Caroline Ince are eco-ordinators at Sidemoor school.
Hannah said: "Our biggest success has been taking part in the Malvern Spring Gardening Show 2013 where we were awarded highly commended for creating our garden The Hodgeheg’s Paradise, based on the book The Hodgeheg by Dick King-Smith.
"We hope to continue our eco work through our school and local community."
