TWO robbers, one armed with a claw hammer, threatened two women at a Rubery store during a robbery.

The raid happened at R F Collyer jewellers in New Road, at around 4.50pm on Saturday, May 3.

Two members of staff prepared to leave the shop after closing for the day when the robbers burst in, threatened them, then pushed one of them to the floor.

They left after stealing cash and jewellery from a safe and headed off on foot towards Callowbridge Road.

One of the women working at the store suffered a cut lip during the incident, but neither of them required medical attention.

The robbers were both Asian men, six feet tall, aged around 30, with large muscular builds. One was described as having a chubby face. Both were wearing dark sports clothing.

Detective Sergeant Martin Grant, of North Worcestershire CID, said: “We are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious near the store at around the time this happened.

"If you saw these men either hanging about in the area, getting out of a vehicle or noticed where they went afterwards then please get in touch immediately.”
