PUPILS at a Bromsgrove school have been given some help planning their future careers.

Youngsters from St John’s Middle School took part in the school's annual careers day, on Thursday, May 22.

The day is designed to help youngsters nearing the end of their time at the school think about their future career, as they look ahead to high school and their GCSEs.

On the day, pupils from the Watt Close-based school were visited by a midwife, mechanic, journalist, solicitor, a veterinary nurse and a team of builders.

Those in attendance were from various employers including the NHS, Capital FM, and Clent Hills Vets.

Pupils asked questions, with the visitors encouraging them to study hard to achieve their dreams.

Head of year eight, Rachel Bourne, said : "It’s always an enjoyable day here at St John’s and our pupils really embrace this invaluable experience.

"I am so grateful to the volunteers who gave up their time."
