TOWNSFOLK are being invited to a fun day being held in Bromsgrove.

The Very Important Positive Activities event includes a football tournament, music, oversized games, circus skills and food.

It is taking place at Sanders Park, in Kidderminster Road, between 4pm and 7.30pm on Sunday, June 8.

BBQ supplies are not unlimited, and will be on a first-come-first-served.

Young people will also be making a film about being young in the district as part of the project being run out of Sidemoor Health Hub, with artist and youth worker Daniel Newell.

Bromsgrove District councillor Michael Webb, who is responsible for leisure services, said: “We’re delighted to announce the latest fun, free VIPA event.

"As well as the food there’ll be plenty to do on the day - including the opportunity to be part of the film being made about young people in the district, by young people in the district. It promises to be another exciting event.”

VIPA events aim to support young people aged 13 and 19-years-ago, to stay active in local parks and open spaces.

They are organised by Bromsgrove District Council using Positive Activities funding from Worcestershire County Council, and have already included other BBQs and football coaching evenings across Rubery, Catshill, Alvechurch and Bromsgrove.

Another BBQ event is currently being planned for early September at St Chad's Park, Rubery.
