BROMSGROVE police are investigating an incident in which a woman was robbed of her mobile phone following a night out in the town.
It is believed the offence happened in Worcester Road between 1am and 4am on Saturday, May 31, when the 21-year-old victim was walking with her Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone, in a distinctive OtterBox protective case, in her hand.
A man she did not know grabbed hold of her mobile using force. The victim and the man tussled over the phone and the next thing she can remember is waking up and finding herself on the floor with her phone missing, but her other belongings with her.
The phone is valued at £300.
The man is described as 5ft 11ins, of heavy build, with short dark hair, clean shaven with a pointy chin, and wearing a short sleeved white top and dark coloured trousers.
The victim sustained cuts and bruising to her face, and bruising and discomfort to her knee but did not need medical treatment.
Detective Constable Ryan Townsend of West Mercia Police said: “The victim cannot be sure of the exact time or location, but believes it was around the Worcester Road area of Bromsgrove town centre.
“As well as wishing to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery, we would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing the woman walking in the area, as this will help us identity the time and location of the robbery."
The woman is described as white with blonde hair - longer than shoulder length - and was wearing black leggings, a black leather jacket with a multicoloured aztec print top underneath, and carrying a brown satchel type bag with a strap.
Anyone with information is asked to call DC Townsend on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 258-s-310514.
