A WORCESTERSHIRE man accused of the murder of his two-month-old daughter has pleaded not guilty but admitted unlawfully killing her.
The prosecution at Worcester Crown Court accepted Tyler Vallance's guilty plea to manslaughter and he was remanded in custody.
Vallance, aged 21, of Engadine Road, The Oakalls, Bromsgrove, was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm to his daughter Isabella between October 5 and December 8, 2012 in Redditch. He pleaded not guilty but said he was guilty of S.20 wounding.
Prosecutor Christopher Hotten said the pleas were acceptable, especially as Vallance was suffering from a medical condition.
The baby's mother, 19-year-old Jessica Wiggins, of Heathfield Road, Redditch, who faces other charges connected with the case, followed Vallance into the dock. She was not asked to plead and the case was adjourned until next Tuesday. Her bail was renewed.
It was originally estimated that the case could occupy four weeks but the time-scale will be drastically reduced following the pleas.
