TOWNS in Wyre Forest will play host to a variety of events and activities as part of GeoFest 2014.
Events in this year’s GeoFest include walks, talks, exhibitions and children’s activities along with sessions and demonstrations which will explore the geology, landscape, history and wildlife of the Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark.
The park stretches from Bridgnorth, in Shropshire, to Gloucester, passing through many towns of Wyre Forest.
Bewdley Museum will be the start and finish to a five mile guided Wyre Forest history walk this Staurday, which will explore the connection between the forest and John Ruskin.
While the county museum in Hartlebury will be hosting a talk by Christine Penney, the Hurd Librarian, on Wednesday, July 16, who will be speaking about Bishop Hurd and the Hurd Library.
During July and August, the museums will be holding various drop-in activity sessions each day.
Tickets for the walk in Bewdley cost £3 while the Hartlebury talk costs £16.
