A FUNDRAISING evening in memory of a Rednal woman raised nearly £3,000 for charity.
Debbie Enfield organised the evening for her friend of 35 years, Gina Kidd, who died after a seven year fight against cancer.
As Macmillan Cancer Support supported Gina, Debbie decided she wanted to raise money for the charity, which offers practical, emotional and financial support to people affected by cancer.
A fundraising event was held at the Trinity Centre that included entertainment from singer David King and Russ the Magician.
Debbie said: "Macmillan played a huge part in her life over those years, which is why we wanted to raise as much as possible and decided to arranged a family night of entertainment.
"We managed to raise £2,735.
"Thank you so very much to all that helped - family and friends."
Debbie added there is still time to make a donation, as they are aiming to raise £3,000, by calling her on 07977239931.
