RETAILER Screwfix is to open its first store in Bromsgrove creating 12 new jobs for local people.

The trade tools, accessories and hardware retailer will open in Sherwood Road on Thursday, July 17 and it will be the chains 347th store in the UK.

Screwfix’s new Bromsgrove Store Manager, Will Asquith said: “We’ve created 12 brand new vacancies and have consciously chosen to employ local people from around the Bromsgrove area.

“Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service. Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.

“I’m confident that we’ve got a great location here at the Bromsgrove store. My team and I have already been out and about getting to know local businesses and tradesmen and we’ve all been very pleased with how supportive everybody has been.”

To celebrate the opening all products will have 10% discount from Thursday, July 17 to Sunday, July 20.

Those attend the launch with DIY skills are invited to take part in a free screw drilling competition to win a 40inch Toshiba flat screen TV. The fastest time wins.

There will be product demonstrations taking place during the launch of the new store.

The store will be open Monday to Friday 7am-8pm, Saturday 8am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.

A “click and collect” service will be available whereby within five minutes of ordering local tradesmen can pick up their goods.
