DAREDEVIL drummers wowed the crowds during an energetic performance in Bromsgrove on Saturday evening, (July 19).

There were fears the poor weather could have led to the cancellation of the event but the Sun shone as it began at the junction where High Street meets Church Street in the early evening.

Transe-Express performers then entertained a large crowd that had gathered, drumming as they travelled down High Street to the St John Street and Hanover Street car park.

The drummers, and a trapeze artist, were then lifted up by crane for their spectacular Mobile Homme act - forming a giant children’s mobile, like those used on babies’ cots.

The impressive aerial performance above the town's rooftops lasted for more than 30 minutes, with crowds applauding the act as they were lowered to the ground.

The event was organised as part of this year's relaunched Bromsgrove Festival, and was paid for by Bromsgrove District Council to help to boost the footfall to the town's restaurants and retail outlets.
