THERE will be a special guest to a public meeting, where an appeal to reopen Bromsgrove Museum is being launched.

Henry Sandon, who lives in Worcester and is known for his many appearances on the long running BBC television programme Antiques Roadshow, will be addressing the meeting being held from 7.30pm on Thursday, August 7.

He will be helping to launch the appeal to reopen the Birmingham Road-based museum.

The museum has been closed since 2008, and campaigners have been left disappointed ever since attempts to purchase the building and reopen it have not been successful.

At the meeting of Bromsgrove District Council's cabinet, senior members agreed to approve the building as an asset of community value (ACV).

The ACV means the Norton Collection Museum Trust now have time to put together a bid to buy the building, with this new bid being discussed at the meeting.

The meeting is being held at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre, in Stratford Road. Admission is free.
