THE man who died in a road collision in Bromsgrove town centre has been named.

Paul Geevarghese Vembillil, 61, of Dormston Close, Redditch, was killed when the Landrover Freelander he was a front seat passenger in, hit a CCTV lamppost near The Queen's Head pub, in The Strand.

The Worcestershire coroner opened and adjourned his inquest yesterday, (August 27).

The 44-year-old driver of the vehicle involved in the incident has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in custody.

Police are still appealing for witnesses. Information can be passed on by calling on 101, quoting incident number 355 of August 25.
