RUMOURS that Nando's is interested in opening a restaurant in Bromsgrove have been quashed.
Nando's, which specialises in chicken dishes, has hundreds of branches nationwide and opened a outlet in nearby Redditch in April.
The Advertiser has been contacted by residents who had heard rumours the Portuguese restaurant chain was looking to open an outlet in the town.
Some of the rumours had suggested Bromsgrove High Street as a possible location.
But in a blow for Nando's fans, a spokesman for the company has said the rumours are false.
The spokesman said: "Unfortunately, the rumours of us opening a restaurant in Bromsgrove are not true as we do not even have any provisional plans to open in that area."
The spokesman added that anyone who wanted to suggest the town as an area for a restaurant can do so by visiting the firm's website, nandos.co.uk/openings.
