BROMSGROVE'S MP enjoyed a visit to a sailing club seeing its improved facilities and plans for the future.

Sajid Javid attended Barnt Green Sailing Club, at the Upper Bittell Reservoir, on Saturday, (August 30).

The Enterprise Association, National Under 25s Youth Championships was held at the club and Mr Javid was able to view the start of the first race from the shore.

Mr Javid was shown the improved clubroom facilities, which provide more opportunities for organisations and individuals to hire the Boathouse Venue for meetings and seminars.

The facilities were funded by a grant from the Big Lottery.

Mr Javid also saw the plans for upgraded changing rooms, being funded by a £50,000 grant from Sport England.

Afterwards, Mr Javid said he had a enjoyed visiting the "fantastic club", and seeing the start of the championships.
