FINAL preparations are being made ahead of this weekend's Rubery Festival.

The annual event, held at St Chad's Park, always features a mix of attractions and entertainment.

This year's extravaganza takes places on Sunday, September 7, beginning at 11.45am with a parade from Rubery British Legion.

Among the performers will be Chloe Barry, Chris Tierney, Esther Turner, Dylan Hartnell and Sally Richards - this year's winner of Rubery's Got Talent.

The event also includes table top sales, pony rides, face painting, a hog roast and judo displays.

Festival organiser Tony Maslen said he hoped people would turnout and support the event and the charities including Macmillan Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation, Blue Cross and Royal British Legion.

There is free entry to the festival.

The event is being supported by Bromsgrove District Council and Rubery Social Club, which is also hosting free live entertainment on the evening.
