A BROMSGROVE care home is holding an unusual type of Macmillan coffee morning.

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s largest fundraising event, where people across the country get together and have a chat over a cuppa to help the charity support people affected by cancer.

But staff at Breme Care Home, in Providence Road, have decided to organise a different kind of event, holding a country and Western-themed afternoon event.

Bromsgrove residents are invited to the barn dance on Friday, September 26, between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

The home will feature typical barn dance-style items for the event including hay bales, cowboy boots and hats, and checked shirts and flags.

For just £2, visitors can enjoy live music and line dancing from Step on Board and tuck into a feast of burgers, hot dogs and beans.

Activities leader Helen Barron said: “Our residents absolutely love it when we dress up and make fools of ourselves for a good cause, so they are really excited to be throwing open our doors and welcoming new and familiar faces along to our fundraiser.”

Money raised at the event will be donated to the charity, which helps people living with cancer and their families.
