FAMILIES from Play Days Playgroup and Plus 2s group at St Stephen's Church in Rednal brought in items of food to donate to the food bank at St Stephen's Church.
The families were able to attend a special family service where they listened and acted out the enormous turnip story which taught the children about helping each other.
The youngsters handed their donations to the Rev Melussi Sibandu pictured with some of the youngsters.
A spokesman said: "It was a lovely and relaxing way to introduce the youngsters to new environments.
"During the week the children have had lots of different opportunities to participate in harvest-themed activities
"The youngsters have made baskets, planted seeds, taken part in balancing activities, learnt new words and generally had fun."
