A BROMSGROVE youngster has been celebrating after winning an annual pass to a town open air museum.

During the Heritage Open Days event in September, run by Bromsgrove District Council and Worcestershire County Council, as part of the Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI), residents were given the opportunity to take part in a competition identifying building architecture along High Street.

Alice Watkins was the lucky winner scooping the prize of a family pass to Avoncroft Museum for the next year.

The nine-year-old overcame tough competition by finding 18 hidden architectural treasurers on the street.

David Thomas, THI project officer for Bromsgrove District Council, said: “The heritage open days are a once-a-year chance to uncover and discover untold stories and hidden treasures associated with the historic buildings in the town.

"We are keen to get residents young and old interested in the history on their doorstep so this competition was a great way of doing that.

"Well done to Alice for finding them all.”
