BUSINESSES can cash in on the benefits of superfast broadband thanks to a new scheme in the district.

The scheme is now available to Bromsgrove, which means that businesses in qualifying areas can apply for a voucher of up to £3,000 to cover the costs of broadband installation.

The voucher, worth between £100 and £3,000, can be used to pay for all or part of the capital and equipment costs of getting a better, faster connection. Businesses only pay VAT and the monthly line rental to their chosen service provider.

Councillor Michael Webb, whose portfolio covers economic development, said: “As a businessman myself, I know how much we now rely on the internet in all areas to keep everything running smoothly.

“This opportunity is not one to be missed for Bromsgrove businesses who will be able to transform, grow and reach out to new customers and markets as a result of this scheme. I’m delighted to know that we have secured this valuable support through Digital Birmingham.”

The scheme is available for a limited time only. All applications must be received by March 2015.

Businesses who want to find out if they are in an eligible area call the North Worcestershire Development and Regeneration on 0845 601 5953.
