Harry Styles' dad tweets about birthplace rumours (January). The Bromsgrove Advertiser exclusively revealed that Harry Styles had been born in Redditch. After rumours he had been born in Bromsgrove, his dad tweeted to end the confusion.

ASDA moves to quash rumours Bromsgrove store is to close (April). Several residents contacted the Advertiser to say they had heard the town's ASDA supermarket was pulling out of the town. ASDA quashed the rumours saying there were no plans to close the store.

Tributes paid to "kind, caring, and intelligent" Sam (May). The family of Sam Chambers who died in a road collision in Bromsgrove, spoke of their love for the 17-year-old.

PM David Cameron visits Advertiser offices (July). The Prime Minister visited the new home of the Bromsgrove Advertiser in July, touring the newsroom and speaking to Advertiser reporter Liz Sharpe.

Former Advertiser reporter leaves reality jungle show (December). Former Bromsgrove Advertiser journalist Michael Buerk made a surprise appearance in the jungle-based reality show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!
