CHILDREN at a Bromsgrove playgroup have helped to raise hundreds for life saving equipment.
Lickey End Playgroup, based at the Methodist Church in Alcester Road, took part in a fundraising pink-themed week recently.
Pink was the chosen colour because the box a defibrillator will be housed in is in pink.
Once purchased, the defibrillator gives staff access to the vital life saving equipment, which could increase the chance of survival if someone suffers a cardiac arrest whilst at the church.
The box has been donated by a generous Redditch couple in memory of their children, Charlotte and Craig.
At the event the children wore pink, they iced biscuits with pink icing and enjoyed a visit from Doc McStuffins who checked chests with her stethoscope, danced to Frozen music and took pictures with the children.
To boost sales, Young Heart Matters wristbands were also sold.
The event managed to raise an impressive £645 which will be put towards the £1,000 needed to be raised.
