REHEARSALS are underway for a new production being performed at a Bromsgrove venue.

Fashionably Late is being performed at the Artrix theatre, in School Drive, from 8pm on Sunday, May 10.

The play tells the story of the Rich family which is planning a family party, when tragedy strikes.

It asks whether the party should go ahead, with the family going on to celebrate life, love and laughter.

It is set to the background music of Radio 2's Family Choice, and is designed to get the audience laughing, thinking and wiping away a tear or two.

The hilarious show is written and performed by Ginny Davis, who has celebrated two previous sell out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe.

She was inspired to write Fashionably Late after her mother came to stay for a month's convalescence.

Ginny performs in the play with James Goldsworthy, who performed in a previous production written by Ginny.

“His comic timing and empathy with my sense of humour perfectly suited hm for the role, or rather roles in Fashionably Late, since between us we play 13 characters.

"His Mercy, a 20 something goth 'shop girl' is adorable. His Ned, a sweet but awkward apprentice funeral director is a delight.”

Tickets to Fashionably Late cost £12.50, £10.50 for over 60s.
