THE weekend’s almost upon us.

To help you dodge those roadworks and get home that little bit easier here’s tonight’s traffic and travel news.

The A4101 High Street in Pensnett remains closed eastbound between the Dreadnought Road junction and The Plantation junction, because of gas main work.

A diversion is in operation - via Dreadnought Road and Tansey Green Road.

Motorists are warned to expect delays due to roadworks on the A38 Aston Expressway, Birmingham, between M6, Spaghetti Junction, and the A4540 Dartmouth Circus, Birmingham.

The M6 Birmingham entry slip road is closed in both directions from A38, Salford Circus, because of major roadworks.

Traffic is being diverted onto the A38 Aston Expressway - access onto the M6 is available.

Motorists are warned of possible delays on the M6 southbound, Birmingham, due to a speed restriction of 50 mph and the hard shoulder being closed between J9 A461 (Wednesbury) and J8 M5 - because of major roadworks.

For those heading into Birmingham - the A456 Broad Street in Birmingham City Centre is closed inbound between the Bridge Street junction and the A38 Paradise Circus junction, because of major roadworks.

A diversion in operation - via Bridge Street, Holliday Street and Suffolk Street Queensway. Motorists are advised to allow extra journey time in case of delays.

The A457 Parade/Sand Pits in Birmingham City Centre is closed outbound between the Cambridge Street junction and the Fleet Street junction, because of major roadworks.

A diversion is in operation - via Cambridge Street, King Edwards Road and Summer Hill Street.

And Aston Bridge is closed in both directions between Dartmouth Circus and the A5127 Lichfield Road junction, because of bridge maintenance work.

A diversion is in operation - via Thomas Street.
