A CRICKET comedy will be entertaining audiences at a Rubery venue this month.

Rubery Drama Group will be performing Outside Edge, a play by Richard Harris, at Beacon Church Centre in Whetty Lane from Thursday, April 30, until Saturday, May 2.

The play tells the story of Roger who has trouble assembling his cricket team to play against the British Railways Maintenance Division Yealding East.

But these problems are the least of his worries compared to the problems surrounding the team's various wives and girlfriends.

Even Roger’s wife, champion tea-maker Miriam, rebels against his authority and uncovers his unfortunate peccadillo in Dorking.

The play starts each night from 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £6, £5.50 concessions, which are available by calling 0121 453 8733 or 0121 445 2323.
